Have you ever had the problem of not having enough hours in a day? To want to do more than what was possible? Me too! In the Netherlands, where I’m located, you can choose from 12 recipes each week, and when I chose my box, 5 of those recipes were either vegan or vegetarian! Personally, I think it is really awesome that they offer so many vegetarian or vegan recipes to choose from! The two dishes I chose were a vegetarian nutty bulgur salad with roasted carrots and yoghurt dip, and a vegan stir fry dish with crunchy herbed tofu, noodles, and loads of veggies. I then chose my box to be delivered on a Tuesday night, so that I could use the ingredients for dinner on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday I often eat with friends, and during the weekend I go to my boyfriend, so the box with two dinners was perfect for me.
The first dish I made was the vegan stir fry dish with crunchy herbed tofu, noodles, and loads of veggies, and I have to say, I was not disappointed! The dish was easy and quick to make, and I loved that all the ingredients were already pre-portioned. It makes cooking even more fun if you don’t have to portion everything yourself in my opinion 😉
The second dish I made was the vegetarian nutty bulgur salad with roasted carrots and yoghurt dip. This was also delicious, but since the meal was a bit more elaborate than the stir fry dish, it took a little longer, about 30 minutes, which is perfectly in line with the 30-40 minutes they say it will take you to make!
Is it worth it?
Overall, I’m really happy with Marley Spoon, and especially with the fact that they offer so many vegetarian and vegan options. And of course, it also saves you heaps of time in the grocery store and kitchen! So, yes, I would say yes, it is totally worth it, if it’s within your budget!
