This smoothie is actually an improved version of one of the first recipes I made for the blog. It has a little more spinach, and it is VEGAN! Yay for plant power 💚 Other than that, not much has changed, but there are better photo’s too!

After I got a Vitamix for Christmas a couple years ago, I have tried countless smoothie combinations, but eventually I always go back to this one. It is super simple, with only 4 ingredients (5 if you include the ice cubes), and still it is a really well-rounded flavoured smoothie. My absolute favourite for sure!

Thanks to the lime zest, the lime smell and flavour is pretty intense, which also masks the flavour of the spinach, since there goes quite a bit of spinach into this baby! I decided to add vegan quark (soy-based) as well for some much-needed protein, and it gives the smoothie a nice smooth consistency.

Ingredients
  • 1 lime
  • 250 gram vegan quark alternative (soy-based)
  • one small banana
  • 150 gram fresh spinach
  • 15 ice cubes
Instructions
  1. First zest the lime, and then juice it. Add both the zest and juice to your blender, together with the quark alternative, banana, spinach and ice cubes and blend until smooth

    Ik ontbijt graag met een smoothie. Deze combinatie lijkt met erg lekker! En heerlijk fris met ijs!

      Heerlijk he, smoothies! Het ijs zorgt er voor dat het lekker koel blijft, maar als je blender het niet aan kan om ijsblokjes te crushen zou je het ook zonder ijsblokjes kunnen maken en na het klaarmaken een paar minuutjes in de vriezer of koelkast zetten :)
